You might want to try out Algebrator. I bought it some time back to help me with my Pre Algebra course and I can say that it was a good choice . There are so many demos provided which you can go through. You can also try out the questions related to roots and proportions by just typing them in. Algebrator provides complete description to the problems which helps to make difficult concepts very clear. I would say that this program is absolutely the best that money can buy.

I’ve been using this program since quite some time now, and it has never let me down. It won’t just solve a question for you, but it’ll also give details of every step that was taken to arrive at a particular answer. And that’s the best feature in my opinion. I was having a lot of problems tackling questions based on cpm algebra 2 book solution but ever since I bought this software, math has beenlike a piece of cake for me.

I remember having difficulties with angle complements, rational inequalities and adding functions. Algebrator is a really great piece of math software. I have used it through several math classes - Pre Algebra, Intermediate algebra and College Algebra. I would simply type in the problem and by clicking on Solve, step by step solution would appear. The program is highly recommended.
